GUEST SERVICE MANAGER

Job specification :
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • College degree of four-year study, preferably hotel or restaurant management and/or business administration.
  • A minimum of four years’ experience as a line employee, preferably in Rooms.
  • Experience as manager or assistant manager in one of the following areas: Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping, or Reservations.
  • Two to three years’ management experience required at an assistant department head level.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Fidelio, Lotus, Microsoft Office and knowledge of basic financial operations.
  • Strong people skills, communication skills and the ability to work as part of a productive team.

Junior Finance Professional

Junior Professionals
  1. Generally, junior professionals perform their duties in accordance with guidelines defined by the manager, or are under the instruction of professionals in higher bands.
  2. The content of work and the learning stages are geared towards enabling the staff member to assume functions in GIZ band 4 or corresponding activities in the market,
  3. This function allows the employee to acquire technical and methodological knowledge and personal and social skills which can also be used in other band 4 functions.
A. Responsibilities
The junior finance professional provides support in
1. dealing with all questions arising in this area
2. identifying relevant problems and issues and assisting in formulating implementation-oriented solutions
3. further developing instruments and assisting in introducing innovation and change
4. managing knowledge by disseminating and documenting know-how, experience and information

B.Tasks
1. Finance and Accounting
  • Prepare the payment and electronic banking details based on request from the projects after checking the completeness of the documents
  • Input the authorize payments into the WINPACCS bank-/cash-book
  • Liaise with the bank, handle all banking matters
  • Arrange and facilitate regular monthly payments – local and foreign currency
  • Provide advice and guidance in financial matters to projects
2. Internal control
  • is involved in drawing up the annual internal controlling schedule and reports
  • conducting internal control on projects accounting in Indonesia and Timor Leste in accordance with the Internal Control Guideline published by the Auditing Unit of GIZ Head Office
  • Discuss the result of the internal control with Principal Advisor
3. Other duties/additional tasks
  • performs other duties and tasks at the request of management
  • Immediately report all problems involving finance and regulations
  • Maintain filing for financial section and keep information confidential
  • Undertake further job training related to her position and duties, if required. Special training programs shall be Identified and selected jointly with the GIZ Management
  • Required qualifications, competences and experience Qualifications : Qualification in business administration with a focus on accounting or related area
Professional experience
  • initial experience (internship or similar) in this area
Other knowledge, additional competences
  • basic knowledge of field-related computer software
  • good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax,email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
  • good knowledge of the European language widely used in the country,ideally a knowledge of German
  • willingness to up skill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
